FAQs
-
What is a hot-swappable keyboard? A hot-swappable keyboard allows users to personalize their keyboard by changing the switches without having to disassemble the keyboard or perform any de-soldering. For the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed, the switches are removable using the included 2-in-1 keycap and switch puller. -
What switches are compatible with the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed? Most standard 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switches are compatible with the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed. For a different switch feel, we recommend the Razer Mechanical Switches in Green Clicky or Yellow Linear that are sold separately. -
Does the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed come with a keyboard wrist rest? No, the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed does not come with a wrist rest. However, you may get the Razer Ergonomic Wrist Rest for Tenkeyless Keyboards as an additional accessory. -
What mechanical keyboard keycaps are compatible with the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed? The Razer Phantom Keycap Upgrade Set and the Razer PBT Keycap + Coiled Cable Upgrade Set are fully compatible with the BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed. -
What material is the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed made of? The top case of this hot-swappable keyboard is made from durable 5052 aluminum alloy, while the bottom case is constructed using ABS plastic. -
What is a Tape-enhanced PCB and what is its purpose? Within the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed, the underside of its printed circuit board (PCB) has a thick layer of fire-resistant tape attached, which is used to enhance the typing acoustics of the keyboard. The tape absorbs higher frequency sounds and reflects lower frequencies back to the user, producing a satisfying ‘poppy’ typing sound. Commonly referred to as ‘tape mod’, most standard keyboards need to be disassembled for the tape to be applied. However, as this feature is already present in the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed, you can enjoy the benefits of a tape mod keyboard right out of the box. -
What is a top-mounted plate? A top-mounted plate refers to the plate of the keyboard being mounted onto the top case as a separate component from the rest of the keyboard body. This reduces any case pinging noises when typing, giving the keyboard a cleaner sound signature. -
Can I disassemble the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed to make further modifications? The Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed can be easily disassembled through the screws located at the bottom of the keyboard. Do note that Razer’s warranty does not cover any internal damage caused by internal modifications to the keyboard. -
Can the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed accept screw-in stabilizers? Yes, you are able to swap the existing stabilizers to most screw-in stabilizers on the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed. The printed circuit board (PCB) of the keyboard has the required holes to install screw-in stabilizers. Do note that this will require the keyboard to be disassembled and Razer’s warranty does not cover any internal damage caused by internal modifications to the keyboard. -
Will Razer Chroma RGB be compatible with Dynamic Lighting on Microsoft Windows? Yes, the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed is generally compatible with Dynamic Lighting. If you should encounter any bugs, we recommend turning off this feature.
